Sales Talk for CEOs is back – with a new focus

Hi Reader,

Didn’t notice we were gone? Ha, well, either way Sales Talk for CEOs is back after a 6 month, unintentional pause, and it’s refocused as part of my launch of something bigger.

I find this season of my life both beautiful and challenging. My business requires me to stay focused on driving revenue and serving my clients and I want to spend time with my grandkids and elderly parents. As some of you know, I lost my beautiful mom, Thelma Matlin on April 2. She was 92 but it was unexpected. I’m so happy I was able to be by her side.

Adding to that running my business, making a pivot and relaunching a podcast along with navigating the symptoms of menopause and now you know what many female founder CEOs are facing.

For the past year and a half, I’ve felt a steady pull in my work toward one group, female founder CEOs in tech and innovative industries who are driving revenue while holding so much more than just a company on their shoulders. This refocus is my way of answering that pull and saying, “I see you, and I am here for you.”

Back to the podcast. Over 190 episodes, I’ve had conversations with founder CEOs and sales experts about starting companies, winning those first deals, and growing revenue. Those stories have been inspiring and instructive. But alongside them, I’ve been sitting in Zoom rooms, boardrooms, and quiet one-on-one conversations with female tech founders who are building companies while raising children, caring for elderly parents, running households, navigating hormonal changes, and trying to protect their own health and sanity. They show up, often without complaint, and keep going even when the load is heavy. Sound familiar?

I want to spend this next chapter of my work focused on those women. Female tech founders still receive less than 2% of venture funding, yet they figure out how to build, sell, and grow all the same. They are powerful, brilliant, brave, and beautiful, and too often the world only sees the company metrics, not the whole human behind them. My hope is that my new focus, leading with the podcast relaunch, can be a place where their stories are told fully and where their challenges are met with real support, not just admiration from afar.

I’m pivoting my business from a traditional consulting model to building a community with cohorts designed specifically for female founder CEOs. I want to create rooms, virtual and in-person, where women can talk honestly about what it takes to drive revenue while juggling family, aging parents, households, and the realities of our bodies and hormones over time. I believe we can make it easier, healthier, and more sustainable to grow these companies, and I want to be the support systems that makes that possible.

If you know me, you know my advocacy for women does not start at the founder stage. I care about the whole journey, from girls getting hands-on STEM experiences, to young women discovering they can be inventors and leaders, to seasoned founders scaling companies and leading teams. I work with organizations that give girls those early opportunities because I want them to see themselves as future founders. And now I am focusing on the women who are already out there building amazing things and sometimes working themselves to the edge in the process.

In this new focus of Sales Talk for CEOs, you’ll hear stories from women who have turned “impossible” ideas into reality, whether that is getting period products into every restroom stall, helping mothers understand the gut microbiome issues making their babies sick, or building companies while navigating complex fertility and family journeys. These conversations will be real and human. They will celebrate the wins, but they will also talk openly about the pressure, the trade-offs, and the support these women needed along the way.

The first new episode drops the week of July 13. If you are a female founder CEO in tech, or you love and support one, I would be honored if you listened and shared it. And if you are a founder who is not feeling fully supported right now, I would love to hear from you. Reply to this email and tell me what you’re carrying and what support you wish you had. As I build toward the community and cohorts launching in September, your voice will help shape what this becomes.

Here’s to every female founder out there. Powerful, beautiful, brilliant, and brave. You are doing something extraordinary, and the world needs you. I am here to make your path a little lighter, a little healthier, and a lot more supported.

To your sales success,

Alice
