She Spent Years Building Before the Market Was Ready

Hi Reader,

How did it get to be October?

We are into 4th quarter and I don’t know about you, but I’ve started my planning for 2027.

So much to do in this season of my life, running my company, launching a new community, playing with grandbabies, caring for parents, trying to have a little time for me.

How’s it going for you?

Notes from a Female Founder

I’m always fascinated by what prompts someone to start a company. Entrepreneurship is not an easy road. But people get ideas and they just can’t stop themselves.

I know that is the way it has been for me founding two companies and one non-profit and now launching Revenue + Real Life™.

I literally could not stop myself from launching this community for female founders. I’m so passionate about providing the support they need to thrive, drive revenue in ways they never dreamed and stay sane. I had to do it.

That’s the way it was for my friend Melissa. She had an idea and had to make it a reality. You’ll read more about her in a minute because she was my podcast guest this week.

Sales Sharpenher

Four things to sharpen up your sales team’s outreach (or yours if you are doing founder-led sales)

· Learn the industry you are calling into

· Find out everything about the company and its ownership and leadership

· Find out everything you can about the people who will be involved in the decision to purchase

· Understand the journey they will follow to buy and make it frictionless

This is a no brainer if you use AI properly.

Some salespeople don’t understand why they need the company research. They just think about the people involved in the buying process, but companies have other initiatives and they buy differently depending on how they are owned and their leadership structure.

This business acumen will help you move the deal forward.

This week’s conversation

It started with a moment at a parking machine in a garage. That moment sparked the idea for eBodyGuard®, and Melissa Faith Hart has been building it ever since.

Melissa left corporate America to pursue this mission full time. She invested her own money, while raising her son, and spent years developing a landmark personal safety technology. It is built to be the bridge between individuals, communities, victim advocates, first responders, law enforcement, and the justice system when help is needed most.

She didn’t build it alone. She listened to customers and survivors, worked with multiple law enforcement agencies, and collaborated with victim advocates, judicial representatives, educators, and health care providers to shape what eBodyGuard® became. That listening changed the way she leads as a CEO too.

We also talked about the cognitive load female founders carry while building, simplifying life during demanding seasons, and why doing your best doesn’t mean doing everything on your own.

On LinkedIn this week

More activity doesn’t always mean more sales. I challenge CEOs to stop counting calls and emails and start counting meaningful conversations with people who can actually buy. If your team does the homework in this week’s Sales Sharpenher, those conversations get a lot easier to have.
