The Women Who Taught Me Everything About Sales

Hi Reader,

Some of the best sales advice I've ever received didn't come from a book.

It came from women in sales.

Women who picked up the phone when nobody thought they could get through. Women who closed deals while being underestimated, underpaid, and overlooked. Women who built entire methodologies that the rest of the industry now takes for granted.

I've spent my career surrounded by men in sales and a few extraordinary women, and those women shaped how I lead, how I sell, and how I show up for this profession.

And this month and always, I want to celebrate them.

Here's what I know about women who sell:

✅ They don't just open doors. They build them and when there's no seat at the table, they create one, and then they pull up chairs for everyone around them.

✅ Their "no" is just the beginning. Resilience isn't a buzzword for women in sales. It's a survival skill they've honed for decades.

✅ They sell with empathy and it works. The ability to truly listen, understand, and connect isn't a soft skill. It's a superpower. And women in sales have been proving that for years.

✅ They mentor, even when nobody mentored them. Some of the most generous leaders I know are women who figured it out the hard way and immediately turned around to help the next person up the ladder.

Think about the women who've influenced your career. The manager who believed in you before you believed in yourself. The colleague who shared her playbook when she didn't have to. The mentor who told you the truth when you needed to hear it.

Those women matter. Their stories matter.

And those stories will be told.

Which is exactly why the Sales Decade Project feels so personal to me.

Designed by the brilliant Lori Richardson and hosted by none other than, me, this event is bringing together some of the most iconic women in our profession, Jill Konrath, Sheevaun Thatcher, Colleen Stanley, and so many more who were selling in the 80’s before selling was cool.

These are the women who changed the game. And you'll get to sit in the room with them, hear their stories, ask your questions, and walk away with connections that will take you to the next level.

The learning and networking will be great but it’s also a celebration of what women in sales have accomplished and what is yet to come.

If you've been looking for a reason to go, let this be it.
